OUR CLAIM AS THE BEST ARCHITECTS IN UGANDA
How do you know if you have chosen the best architects in Uganda for your project?
It's simple; Look for creativity, it's what is responsible for achieving the good aesthetics for your project design. On the other hand, sensibility is how cost and functionality are engineered into your design proposal. It's the delicate balance of these priorities that ultimately distinguishes the average from the best.
And our claim as the best architects in Uganda is because we excel at getting this balance right.
We suspect that a creative and stimulating design makes us feel better, do better work and (for commercial owners) make more money. Simply put, a successful project has to be good architecture to work well.
At BLACK, we undertake various endeavors ranging from design to consulting to scheduling and construction. However if there is one discipline that glues all this activity, it's clearly architecture. Here is how we go about it (click here to download the detailed version of our Design & Build Work Plan).
1) THE BEGINNINGS
As a client, we know that even before engaging our professional architectural services, you're already seeking answers about your project e.g. What program do i need? Is my site big enough? How much will it cost?
As architects and builders, we are best-placed to provide informed answers to these early unknowns. As a result of our assessments, you will be able to strategically plan for the resources available. Of-course, In the end, these early decisions are up to you as the client, however we can serve as a valuable resource to clarify the options.
2) THE CONCEPT & SCHEMATIC DESIGN
This is when the magic happens; Ideas are explored, concepts developed, and the first discussions with us on your design proposal happen.
Specifically, we use the latest computer software aids to develop study drawings, documents, or other media that illustrate the concepts of our design including space relationships, scale and form for the owner to review.
More so, this is the research phase of the project when zoning requirements or bye-law(s) restrictions are first discovered and addressed.
3) THE DETAILED DESIGN & DOCUMENTATION
This is the stage for the technical stuff, we take on the schematic design and develop it further until approved.
In the end, your design should be functionally correct, within budget constraints and also describe all the main components of the building and how they fit together. The detailed design also provides sufficient documentation for drawings, schedules, specifications and applications for statutory approvals to be made.
